Scope and Importance
The Department of English of this college had been established in 1996. The mother institution, Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj, Nashik considered the need for English to the students of rural areas and decided to start English as a special subject in this college. English as the international language plays important role in the life of students for better future job and business opportunities. Our department is always attempting to enhance the linguistic ability of the students. Nandgaon is a drought-prone area and poverty is the main obstacle in seeking higher education.
The mother institution thought about this and started this subject at a special level so that the economically backward students of the area could afford to come and enrol themselves in the college. Our department is always looking for better prospects to enrich the students through various skills. We have well established Language library. The department has been providing the students the recent issues in literature and language through the internet and lingual phones and music systems. The department has qualified faculty and they are always striving for better teaching performance. The department has always been organizing seminars, workshops, and conferences for teachers, researchers, and students to interact about literature and language. We have a departmental library that provides reference books to the students. The students use the department for studying during their free time in the college. Do visit the department.
